By Sgt. Danny Hough, Louisiana National Guard Public AffairsPINEVILLE, La. – The Louisiana National Guard’s State Medical Command, 756th Medical Company Area Support (139th Regional Support Group), 199th Brigade Support Battalion (256 Infantry Brigade Combat Team), and 204th Theater Airfield Operations Group received new medical equipment at LANG Training Center Pineville on Feb. 19.
The fielding included five electrocardiographs, a state-of-the-art vaccine and medical refrigerator, and additional critical care equipment. These upgrades will bolster the LANG’s ability to sustain medical readiness across the force and provide essential medical support in both domestic response operations and deployed environments.
The new vaccine and medical refrigerator ensure proper storage of temperature-sensitive medications and vaccines, crucial for maintaining immunization efforts and emergency medical response capabilities. With the ability to store and preserve critical supplies under precise conditions, this addition enhances the LANG’s capacity to provide medical aid to service members and civilians during disasters or contingency operations.
Electrocardiographs, which monitor heart rate and rhythm, are vital diagnostic tools that help detect cardiac conditions, assess medication effectiveness and evaluate overall heart health. These devices improve the LANG’s ability to conduct medical screenings, ensuring Soldiers remain fit for duty and ready for rapid mobilization when called upon.
The addition of this advanced medical equipment reinforces the LANG’s commitment to ensuring its personnel remain medically prepared for state and federal missions. By enhancing its medical support capabilities, the LANG strengthens its ability to respond effectively to emergencies, whether in combat zones or in support of local communities during disasters.
